Voice Caddie SL3
The most feature-rich hybrid rangefinder available — full colour touchscreen, Smart Course View, Smart Green View and Smart Putt View
Full-colour touchscreen GPS display mounted on the side of the rangefinder body. Four GPS views including course overview, green view with heat map, and putt view. The touchscreen is genuinely usable on course — responsive, bright, readable in UK conditions. More complex to operate than either the Z82 or Tour Hybrid but offers the richest information set of the three. For golfers who actively use GPS course data to plan every hole.

Our view
The SL3 is the most technically accomplished rangefinder we cover. The Smart Putt View with undulation data is a genuine differentiator — no other device at this price gives you green reading information alongside laser precision and full course mapping. The GPS Pin Assist approach to eliminating background clutter is more sophisticated than simple First Target Priority. At £449 it sits just below the Garmin Z82 at £499 — the Z82 delivers its course data in the viewfinder which is arguably more useful during the swing; the SL3 delivers more data types including putting undulation on the touchscreen. For the golfer who genuinely uses every piece of available data, the SL3 is the stronger overall package. For golfers who primarily want a fast, reliable laser with some GPS context, the Garmin Z82 is more focused.
Pros
- Smart Putt View with undulation data is unique — no other rangefinder under £500 offers green reading
- GPS Pin Assist eliminates background clutter more intelligently than First Target Priority alone
- Auto-zoom Smart Course View is genuinely useful for course management on unfamiliar courses
- Exceptional battery life — 20 hours GPS, 45 hours laser only
- Bluetooth 5.0 for app connectivity
- Active rotating green view relative to player position is best-in-class
Cons
- At £449 it is the most expensive rangefinder we cover outside the Garmin Z82
- 1-year warranty — below standard for a premium-priced device
- No magnetic cart mount included — requires separate £25 accessory
- Heaviest Voice Caddie rangefinder at 220g / 7.76oz
- Touchscreen adds complexity — more to learn than a standard laser
- Limited UK retailer presence compared to Garmin and Bushnell
