Our view
The Coolshot 20 GIII makes its case on weight and simplicity. At 130g it is the lightest golf laser in the Nikon range and among the lightest available in the UK market — genuinely smaller than a smartphone and light enough to forget you are carrying it. First Target Priority at £149 is an unusual feature at this price and adds real value on courses with complex backgrounds. The honest limitation is the absence of slope — if you want incline/decline measurement the 20i GIII adds it for approximately £30 more. The 10,000 measurement battery life is exceptional. For a pure, lightweight no-slope laser this is the most capable option in its price range.
Pros
- Lightest golf laser in the Nikon range — genuinely pocketable at 130g
- First Target Priority at £149 is unusual — most competitors add this at higher price points
- 10,000 measurement battery life means years of typical use per battery
- Dioptre adjustment at this price point benefits glasses wearers
- 5-year warranty is class-leading in the entry laser category
Cons
- No slope — if you want ID incline/decline technology buy the 20i GIII instead
- 800 yard range — shorter than competitors at similar price
- No magnetic cart mount — requires separate accessory
- LOCKED ON QUAKE rather than DUAL LOCKED ON QUAKE — single confirmation only
