Shot Scope Pro L5

Our view

The Pro L5 is one of the best value rangefinders on the UK market in 2026. An OLED display at £169.99 — currently on sale — is genuinely remarkable when OLED is a premium feature on devices costing two to three times as much. The display difference is real and immediately noticeable, particularly in the flat grey light that characterises most British golf mornings. The x7 magnification and 1,300 yard range are class-leading at this price. The honest limitations are the single-colour display (no red/black toggle like the Pro ZR) and standard build quality. For the vast majority of UK club golfers, neither of those limitations will matter. At the current sale price this is the strongest value proposition in the entire rangefinder category.

Pros

  • OLED display at £169.99 is extraordinary value — most OLED rangefinders cost £300+
  • x7 magnification and 1,300 yard range outspec most competitors at twice the price
  • 4.8 review score from 16 verified UK and Irish buyers
  • Compact size suits golfers with smaller hands — praised specifically by lady golfers
  • Free GPS app access with no subscription

Cons

  • No dual optics — single colour display only, unlike the Pro ZR and Pro LX
  • No DuraShield HardShell — standard build rather than premium hardshell
  • No shot tracking capability
  • One reviewer noted brightness could be improved — worth checking in store if possible
