Our view
The Coolshot 50i earns its place primarily on the current price — at £199 from a £299 MRRP it represents genuine value for a Nikon laser with slope and built-in magnet. The DUAL LOCKED ON QUAKE is reliable and the Nikon optics are characteristically clear. The honest caveat is that the 50i GII at £249 adds meaningful improvements for £50 more. At the current discount the 50i is a good buy — at full MRRP the 50i GII makes more sense.
Pros
- Built-in cart magnet at £199 is strong value — previously a premium feature
- DUAL LOCKED ON QUAKE provides reliable flag confirmation
- Significant discount from MRRP — currently £199 from £299
- Nikon optics quality at an accessible price point
Cons
- No optical stabilisation — that is exclusive to the Stabilized range
- No OLED display — LCD only
- Limited spec data publicly available — full specifications to be confirmed
- The 50i GII at £249 offers meaningful upgrades for £50 more
